Before the age of the internet, before cell phones and video games, when life was simpler, girls had fun with rag dolls made by our mothers and grandmothers, they were simple but unique dolls in their materials, accessories and production methods and clothing, so it was impossible for your little friend to have one just like yours or that of any other girl in the world. With those dolls we spent hours playing and they were an important part of our childhood.
Now that I am a grandmother and my granddaughter has dolls of all brands, sizes and colors. I remembered my childhood and those great moments with my rag dolls, so I decided to make her own doll. I asked the girl what color she wanted it to be and how she wanted it dressed. She quickly turned on her computer and printed a princess from a video game and she told me -look, grandma, this is the one I want-. My plan was to make her a unique and original doll but she wanted that princess and so she made it for her with fabric that she had in some boxes where I keep all the scraps, threads, buttons and decorations. I dusted off the sewing machine, and got going. At the end of the doll, which being the first was not perfect but even so she liked it very much. As the weeks passed and the pandemic could not be seen when it would end, I continued making rag dolls of all kinds, Cinderella, Snow White, Pinocchio, some plants that attacked zombies, puppies, kittens, at the end I made about a hundred different ones and she helps me with all of them.
One day my son, who is very into NFTs, told me what they were and I was very interested in the subject. Every day he participated in contests and I got into the NFT projects and I liked the collections. It was at that moment that I decided that I wanted to make a collection of rag dolls but I didn't want them to be made by computer but instead to be made with pieces of cloth arranged by hand for each photo. It took me a few months to make the pieces and take the photos, in total there are 1000 different dolls.
It was so much fun creating each of the pieces and I put a lot of time and love into each one. I hope that whoever has it gives it the value it deserves, on YouTube you can see some videos of how the RetroDolly was created.
In total there will be 1000 NFTs in the polygon network
